A young thug who bashed an Uber Eats driver, lashed out at a McDonald’s manager and then turned on a cop during a vicious night of violence has been told he faces more time behind bars.

Liam Knott was 19 when he launched a series of punches at a delivery driver’s head before having a go at a Maccas boss who tried to intervene.

Then when police arrived the Carrum Downs crook struck out at an officer, kicking him before other cops managed to subdue him.

Just a month later he was involved in an attempted robbery of a 14-year-old boy, using his dog to threaten the teen.

Knott, now 20, pleaded guilty to a series of assaults, attempted robbery, damage property, weapons and bail breach charges at the Frankston Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

The court heard he yanked at an Uber Eats driver’s headset before punching the man in the face and ear at Carrum Downs McDonald’s in November last year.

He then threw a punch at a store manager who tried to intervene before tossing a COVID-19 display and the Uber Eats driver’s food across the floor.

Police were called and found Knott and his pit bull a short distance away, with the then teen kicking an officer before he was overpowered by another member.

Then on New Year’s Day this year Knott and a pal targeted an innocent 14-year-old boy at the Carrum Downs Shopping Centre.

He was walking his dog when he told the young boy to hand over his phone or the pit bull would bite him, but the plucky youngster managed to run away to a nearby pizza shop.

Police were called and found Knott at his family home.

In a previous court hearing his defence lawyer said his client suffers from anxiety and depression as well as alcohol and cannabis addictions.

Magistrate Gerard Lethbridge said even though Knott had already spent 98 days behind bars, that was not enough.

“I am considering around six months’ imprisonment,” Mr Lethbridge said.

“It could be a couple of months more, or a couple of months less, it all depends on your community corrections order assessment.

“If you are found not suitable, or you don’t co-operate, you will be spending more time in custody.”

Knott was remanded and will be sentenced on May 17.
