A LANGWARRIN resident has been given a scare after a mischief-maker blew up her letterbox, sending debris flying onto her driveway and roof.
About 7.30pm on September 5, an improvised explosive device detonated the letterbox at a Landhill Close address.
DEADLY DOZEN FILES THROUGH COURT
The explosion caused the top of the letterbox to be flung onto the driveway, while some debris even found its way onto the roof.
Frankston CIU is investigating the incident, but is yet to figure out a motive for the crime.
Detective leading Senior Constable Helen van Zetta said the victim had no issues with her neighbours.
“The victim has no idea who would want to do something like that,” she said.
“It was quite a large explosion.”
Leading Sen-Constable van Zetta noted similar offending had occurred “sporadically” in the area in recent times, usually committed by young people.
Anyone who believes they have information relating to the incident is urged to contact Frankston CIU on 9784 5590 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
