A teen mum who made a habit of riding around in cars that weren’t hers stole carloads of property, including a cookie jar, from a Melbourne storage facility.

Jadiee Brown, 19, appeared in the Ringwood Magistrates Court on Wednesday where she pleaded guilty to a plethora of charges including theft, theft of motor vehicle and possession of drugs.

Her current spate of offending began in October last year when she was busted fleeing a stolen car in which she was a passenger in Wantirna South.

When police arrested her after a lengthy chase with the car, she had a 3.4g bag of meth on her as well as another bag which contained meth residue.

In March this year Brown’s belongings were found in a truck stolen from ASM Sheet Metal, among her belongings were meth and tramadol.

Throughout March and April Brown was busted again for being in two other stolen cars in the Dandenong and Forrest Hill areas.

Then, on April 30, police were called after someone noticed Brown among a group of others go to a construction site in Lysterfield and thought it was suspicious.

The group left the site and police later found Brown hiding in a nearby yard.

When they searched the car that was used to go to the construction site they found, not only was it stolen but it was also full of items belonging to the construction site such as an air compressor and power tools.

Brown’s backpack was also found in the car with GHB in it along with letters she had written to friends in prison.

In May and June this year Brown’s focus turned to the National Storage facility in Rowville, where she had previously been a customer but her lease was discontinued after not paying.

On May 28, Brown took a $500 gel blaster from someone else’s storage locker but her thefts didn’t stop there.

A few days later on June 9 Brown visited the storage facility again and used a stolen car to run away with seven large bags, a smoke machine, and musical instruments.

Three days later Brown went in convoy back to the National Storage facility along with a group of others in stolen Ubers.

Australia's growing drug crisis

The group ransacked several lockers and filled up the two cars with goods.

They also broke into the office and took an iPad, keys, checkbook, and a cookie jar.

Later in June Brown used a stolen card that was stolen during an aggravated burglary in Rowville.

She used the card to buy fuel, a mobile phone holder, and cigarettes.

She was lastly busted on June 18 driving around in another stolen Uber in the Wantirna area.

The court heard Brown wanted to get away from the area, live with her mum in Bendigo, and stay off drugs.

“I don’t want to be (in jail),” she told the court.

“I don’t want to be on drugs and end up back here.”

Magistrate John Hardy said Brown needed to “pull it together” to be a mum for her one-year-old daughter who lives in Western Australia with her grandfather, Brown’s father.

“The bottom line is there is a little girl living thousands of kilometres away from here without her mum,” he said.

“If knowing she is out there in the world isn’t enough for you to get you know what together then I don’t know what is.”

Hesaid he was ready to give Brown a chance because she was young and had no prior history.

“This is not just a little bit of naughtiness,” he said.

“This is serious criminal conduct and if you were older with priors you would be staying there (jail) for a lot longer than the three months you have done already … a lot longer.”

Brown’s case was adjourned to next week for sentencing.
