A Carrum Downs mum who allegedly used a dole rort to get parent payments has denied ripping off Centrelink.

Emma Kilpatrick, 33, pleaded not guilty in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court to multiple charges including obtaining a financial advantage by deception.

Ms Kilpatrick, aka Emma Pope, allegedly swindled parent payments via multiple rorts between January 2016 and August last year.

It’s unclear how much money Ms Kilpatrick allegedly stole but the amount was high enough to have her matter sent directly to the County Court.

Ms Kilpatrick, formerly of Skye, also allegedly used a false Harcourts Cranbourne ‘notice to vacate’ document with the “intention of dishonestly inducing” Centrelink to accept the document as “genuine”.

It’s alleged that if the document was “accepted” it was “dishonestly influencing the exercise of a public duty or function”.

Services Australia charged Ms Kilpatrick in April this year with nine charges.
Ms Kilpatrick will face court at a later date.
