Justine Shelley-Whyte will be remembered as an incredible mother, teacher and business woman after she passed away from cancer.

Justine’s husband of 12 years, Scott Whyte said he wouldn’t be dwelling on the negatives of her cancer journey.

“I will remember her as kind, generous, thoughtful, smart and sassy,” he said.

“She always worried about those around her and wanted to make them the best versions of what they could be.”

Justine was a beloved teacher at Hampton’s St Mary’s Primary School and Parish and built her own tutoring business Mfacts Studio that helped local children improve their maths skills.

“She dedicated her life to helping young people and giving them confidence,” he said.

“Teaching and education was her passion and she had so much more to give.”

Justine’s legacy will be upheld by her two children, Sienna, 11, and Lachie, 9.

“She was just an amazing partner and mother who helped to develop and nurture our two brilliant kids,” said Scott.

“They will never forget their mum and what they did together.

“Justine is so proud of her kids and would’ve been this week when Sienna was elected Friendship captain at school and Lachie was voted onto the SRC.”

The Hampton community has rallied behind the Whyte family, raising more than $100,000 on GoFundMe to support the family.

“This all happened so fast, just three months ago we were at the races together,” he said.

“The kids and I have been so well looked after by the community, which is incredible,” he said.

Scott is also thankful for the medical professionals at Cabrini in Malvern.

“I never realised the effects of stage four cancer, how much pain it causes and how much it takes away from people,” said Scott.

“I am so appreciative of her whole medical team and especially her oncologist Associate Professor Michelle White for their care and support.”

Scott said he would be doing everything he could to make sure his wife was remembered.

“She was loved by her entire family, her mum and her two brothers Ben and Luke as well as all her friends,” he said.

“She will be remembered by her own kids and all the kids she taught over the years.

“In the end, the cancer took away her health and her independence, but it didn’t take away her dignity and ability to be positive and fight, which she did to the very end.”
