A Cranbourne West woman who attacked her mother before setting their house on fire has fronted court.
Georga Robinson pleaded guilty to intentionally cause injury and arson with intent to endanger life in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, following the shocking incident which rocked the community on September 2.
Emergency services were called to the family’s Scarborough Ave home about 8.30am following reports a 22-year-old woman attacked her 60-year-old mother before setting the property alight.
Ms Robinson was left fighting for life with critical upper body injuries but The Alfred hospital downgraded her status to stable in the days after the attack.
Her mother Jennifer Robinson was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Neighbours told the Leader they were in disbelief after witnessing smoke and flames coming from the “usually quiet” property.
“There’s no commotion, it’s a very quiet street … I’ve been here for 19 years and nothing has happened … it’s so terrible,” neighbour Lara Spottiswood said.
Ms Robinson, who appeared in via video link from the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, was supported by her mother in court for the short committal hearing heard by Magistrate Susan Wakeling.
The defence made no application for bail.
Ms Dickinson was remanded and will appear for plea in the County Court on July 5.
