THEY’RE the barbershop duo singing from the same sheet.
Father-son team Aldo and Louis Nero’s tune has struck a chord with customers at their Frankston business.
Aldo recently marked 50 years as a barber with Louis notching an impressive 25 years.
Aldo recalled, as a 10-year-old boy sweeping the floor at a relative’s barbershop in Italy.
He later completed an apprenticeship with cutting and styling hair becoming his life’s passion.
“I like talking with my customers. My customers are like a family,” he said.
Louis inherited his Aldo’s love of hairdressing — starting, as his father did, by sweeping the barbershop floor as a boy.
He also picked up Aldo’s gift of the gab and love of swapping yarns with customers.
“I love chatting and joking with customers,” Louis said.
He said Aldo has also impressed on him the importance of a strong work ethic and doing the best possible job with each haircut.
Aldo has no plans to cut and run from their Thompson St barbershop.
“I like it so much,” he said with a grin.
