Elderly man tragically killed in horror crash in Dandenong

Police are urging commuters to come forward who witnessed two minor collisions before an elderly driver struck a tree and tragically died in Dandenong.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Princes Highway and Heatherton Rd on April 5 following reports of a collision.
It’s understood a man, who was driving a red 2013 Holden Cruze, was travelling along the highway when he crashed into a tree around 11.15am.

The 81-year-old Dandenong man died at the scene.
Sergeant Julie-Anne Newman said the driver was involved in two other crashes within two kilometres of the final incident.
In the first crash, the driver collided with a white van on the Princes Highway, between Clow and Potter streets, about 10.50am.
The second crash involved the driver colliding with a Toyota Yaris at the intersection of Princes Highway and Jones Rd about 11.07am.
Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage of both crashes.
