Disturbing video footage has emerged of four men attacking a driver and passenger in an ugly road rage incident in Melbourne’s south east.
It’s believed the incident happened on the corner of O’Brien Parade and Princes Highway in Pakenham about 5.30pm on January 14.
The footage shows four men getting out of a white ute and confronting a driver and passenger in a blue car that is positioned in front of them.
A man in a green hat yells, spits and punches the driver as a man in an orange top slams the driver’s door twice before violently kicking it.
Two other men can be seen abusing the passenger before an object is thrown at the car.
A driver who witnessed the incident but asked to not be named told Leader she believed an altercation happened at the roundabout on O’Brien Parade before the attack.
“I heard screeching as I turned right at the roundabout and thought it was my tyres,” she said.
“But as I looked in my mirror, I saw the white car driving like an idiot, really close behind the blue car.”
The woman said she saw the four men get out of their car and yell at the driver.
“They opened his door and started pushing and punching him,” she said.
The woman said she felt scared and helpless.
“I thought about getting out [of my car] but there were four males and being a female, they probably would have punched me too,” she said.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said a witness called emergency services.
“It appears both cars moved on and there was no call from a person involved.”
