Dandenong North house fire: Woman burnt in Deakin Crescent blaze

A family including three children have rushed from their burning home in Dandenong North, with a woman taken to hospital after suffering burns.

A woman has suffered burns after a fire broke out at a Dandenong North home overnight.

Firefighters were called to the Deakin Crescent home at 3.55am after several calls reporting smoke and flames

Fire Rescue Victoria firefighters arrived on scene in six minutes and found half the house alight.

The family of five including three children had got out of the house and were standing on the street, with a woman suffering burns, Fire Rescue Victoria said in a statement.

Police and Ambulance Victoria attended, with the woman suffering burns to about 20 per cent of her body.

The fire was brought under control in 20 minutes.

The fire significantly damaged the house and a building surveyor will attend to assess the building.

The cause of the fire will be investigated.
