Dandenong man injured after alleged brazen attempted carjacking in Southbank

A Dandenong man has been injured after he was allegedly set upon by two teenage thugs armed with a weapon in a terrifying attempted carjacking.

It’s alleged two teenage girls, armed with an edged weapon, attempted to carjack a car at the intersection of Hancock and Clarke streets in Southbank on Saturday, February 6 just after 3.30am.

The driver of the car, a 25-year-old Dandenong man, received minor injuries in the incident.

Police arrested the teens at the scene.

A 15-year-old girl was charged with aggravated carjacking, armed robbery and assault related offences.

A 13-year-old girl was charged with aggravated carjacking, armed robbery, assault related offences and commit indictable offence while on bail.

Both were remanded in custody to appear at a Childrens’ court at a later date.
