Sportsgirl: Burke Road Camberwell store closes, site up for lease
In a blow to fashion lovers, a well-known Aussie label has closed its Camberwell store, with the prime site now up for lease.

Popular Aussie retailer Sportsgirl has closed its Camberwell store.
The site at 676 Burke Rd is up for lease by agents Gross Waddell.
Founded in 1948 in Melbourne, Sportsgirl is a favourite shopping destination for girls and women, selling clothing, accessories, shoes and beauty products.
In the Gross Waddell real estate listing, the former Camberwell Sportsgirl site is listed as being a “prime corner retail opportunity” with great exposure to both Burke and Prospect Hill roads.
The store is next to Optus and opposite Sussans.
Popular shoe retailer Jo Mercer, at 785 Burke Rd Camberwell, also recently closed its doors.
And Camberwell’s Target store at 15-25 Station St was replaced with a Kmart late last year.
Sportsgirl has been contacted for comment.
