Travis Faccett faced the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday where he pleaded guilty to a string of theft from motor vehicle charges.
On December 28, 2022, Faccett, 27, was in Warragul where he began breaking into cars about 10pm.
Faccett went to an address on Fieldstone Ave and attempted to break into two locked cars
He then moved on to another car parked on Fieldston Ave, which was also locked.
Faccett attempted to break into five more cars that night but was unsuccessful.
Court documents reveal there were nine other reported attempted car break-ins in the area that night as well as the theft of a car that was later located near Faccett’s address in Dandenong.
In January police carried out a search warrant at Faccett’s home where they found a supply of 700 Xanax tablets which he did not have a prescription for.
Faccett also pleaded guilty on Wednesday to assault and threatening to inflict serious injury.
In August 2021, Faccett was walking along the Princes Highway in Dandenong with the victim when a minor verbal argument broke out.
The fight escalated and Faccett grabbed the victim, the victim was able to break free and ran to call for help but Faccett pushed them to stop them calling the police before spitting at them.
Faceett was arrested and taken to the police station.
On Wednesday Faccett’s lawyer asked for Faccett to be given a chance to be put on a drug and alcohol order.
A representative from Corrections Victoria told the court they would be concerned about Faccett participating in such an order due to the large amount of Xanax he was found with.
However, Faccett will be assessed for an order.
