A car salesman has landed himself in hot water over two cans of capsicum spray allegedly found at his home.

Peter Kontochristos appeared in the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday where he did not enter any pleas and rejected a sentence indication given by a magistrate.

It is alleged Mr Kontochristos was in possession of two cans of capsicum spray which were found in a laundry cupboard in his house during a search in April.

Mr Kontochristos asked for a sentence indication where Magistrate Costas Kilias said he would convict and fine him for the matter.

However, Mr Kontochristos wanted to avoid a conviction and rejected the indication.

Mr Kilias said he couldn’t imagine why a conviction for this matter would cause any great difficulty for Mr Kontochristos.

However, the court heard a conviction would significantly affect his work as a car salesman and life coach.

Kontochristos is listed as a prohibited person under the firearms act.

The court heard Mr Kontochristos had turned his life around since 2018, even becoming a life coach to help others do the same.

The court heard Mr Kontochristos rejected the capsicum spray was his.

Mr Kilias said unless he was willing to point the finger at his wife or kids, the inference was that the capsicum spray was his.

“He should make sure his house is swept as well as a mission impossible movie,” he said.
