A Dandenong DJ impersonated a Victoria Police sex crimes detective to threaten and assault his girlfriend’s former partner over a bogus rape allegation, a court has heard.

Pardeep Singh – who worked at KFC and Domino’s Pizza and goes by “DJ Turbo” – terrorised his victim for several days after his girlfriend, Sussan Jawansher, claimed the innocent man had sexually assaulted her.

The ordeal began on New Year’s Eve 2018 when the victim was lured to a Skye park by Jawansher who messaged the man via Facebook with a honey pot offer of sex.

Singh, who claimed to be a Victoria Police sex crimes member, pounced on the victim.

“I work for this division of sexual assault and rape,” Singh said.

“There are allegations against you with rape on Sussan.

“By the way, there are two cameras watching you now and there are two undercover cop

cars, so if you make a move, you will be taken down.”

Singh told his victim he could “beat the s... out of him”.

Singh told the victim to save his mobile number under the name “Turbo” before letting him go.

The victim was lured to a Frankston park the next day where Singh continued his fake policeman ruse to interrogate, search, threaten and assault the victim.

The victim was summoned back to Frankston a few days later on January 6 where he was confronted by Singh and Jawansher’s mum, Swita Jawansher.

Singh held the victim while Swita allegedly assaulted the victim, the court heard.

It’s alleged Swita slapped the victim’s face dozens of times and pulled his hair.

It’s also alleged Swita wound up and “delivered a kick to the victim’s genitalia”, the court heard.

Singh let the victim go but warned him not to tell anyone.

The victim reported Singh to police who was arrested at his Dandenong unit on January 8.

Singh, 20, was sentenced to 11 months’ prison in the County Court on January 23, after pleading guilty to several offences including false imprisonment.

The court heard Singh dropped out of Keysborough Secondary College before he worked at KFC and Domino’s Pizza.

Judge Kevin Doyle said Singh’s offending was “serious criminal conduct”.

“Whilst at one level The offending is unusual and smacks of immaturity … (your victim) was undoubtably terrified,” Judge Doyle said.

Swita Jawansher will have her matters heard at a trial slated to begin in July.
