Guns and drugs have been found in a Cranbourne East home, with police charging a man allegedly involved.

Police have found five guns and multiple drugs of dependence in an investigation into gun-trafficking in Cranbourne East.

Illicit Firearms Squad detectives charged a man allegedly involved after they searched a Monahans Rd home on June 22.

During the search, police seized five firearms including a bolt action rifle, a sawn off double barrel shotgun, a single barrel sawn off shotgun, two air rifles, various ammunition and what police allege to be dried cannabis, methamphetamines and ecstasy tablets.

A 37-year-old man has been charged with possession of a trafficable quantity of firearms, five counts of a prohibited person possessing firearms, three counts of possessing a drug of dependence and possessing cartridge ammunition.

The man was held in custody overnight and is set to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
