CRANBOURNE teen Jaryd Bennett will live his dream tonight — dancing on stage with his idol Justin Bieber.

Jaryd, 14, beat thousands of other youngsters for a place in Bieber’s ‘Purpose’ tour’s show after finding out about the competition from one of his choreographers.

Bieber announced the contest last year, which gives four fans from each city on his tour the chance to dance on stage.

Contestants had to learn the steps to Bieber’s Children dance routine, download the song, and film themselves performing the routine.

Jaryd, in Year 8 at Cranbourne East Secondary School, told Leader he had been dancing for seven years and had always loved the Canadian pop star.

Jaryd, who dances at J-Step Dance in Cranbourne, said he was thrilled and surprised when Bieber’s dancers told him he had been selected — but said he was both nervous and excited about tonight’s performance.

“It’s super exciting; there was a routine we had to learn and put on YouTube then the winner got to go onstage,” he said.

“I am not sure if I will get to speak to him, it would be crazy (if I did) I am not sure what I would say; I would be speechless.

“Not many of my friends believed me when I told them, nobody really believed me at school but I guess they will know when it’s Friday.”

It’s not the first time Jaryd has had a brush with fame.

In 2013 he and brother Ryan were spotted by Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler while busking at Crown, and invited to dance on stage during the band’s performance of Walk This Way.

23-year-old Bieber shot to fame in 2008 after a talent agent discovered him singing on YouTube.

His debut EP My World, which he worked on with Usher, went platinum in 2009 and included the singles One Time, One Less Lonely Girl and Favourite Girl.

He now has more than 92 million Twitter followers and 79 million Instagram followers.
