Retail giant Costco is setting up a store in Officer as it spends $150m expanding its Victoria operation.

Victoria is home to four Costco stores and two accompanying petrol stations in Moorabbin and Epping with the latest addition — top open in 2023 — to service of the state’s largest growth corridors.

The news got mixed results on social media with some claiming it could impact local businesses, but many welcomed the move.

Pakenham’s Sandra Battifora said the announcement was “something to look forward to”.

“If there’s a petrol station too, you should all sign up,” Edward Leung said,

“I’m in Epping and I’ve made my membership back four times over this year just from the savings from petrol, not to mention the grocery bargains.”
Costco Australia has been contacted for comment.
