Dandenong North woman Cara Morrissey found in Geelong following desperate week long search

The mother of missing Dandenong North woman has revealed her daughter has been found, very far from home.

Cara Morrissey missing again

A family in Melbourne’s southeast can rest easily after announcing their missing daughter had been found.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday night Rhonda Morrissey said her daughter Cara had been found almost a full week after her initial disappearance.

“Last night Cara was located in Corio,” Ms Morrissey said.

Picked up in the outskirts of Geelong by a truckie going by “T”, a relieved Ms Morrissey posted.

“She spent seven days in the open, with minimal water, food and shelter,” the post read.

“We expect it will take some time for Cara to be sufficiently well enough to make any kind of statement.”

Ms Morrissey said Cara was founds with deep cuts, blisters and bruises, all unwelcome souvenirs from her time spent missing.

Ms Morrissey also said Cara was suffering from symptoms of hypothermia and mental strain.

“Cara is confused and exhausted,” she said.

Following the update on Cara’s wellbeing, Ms Morrissey thanked a number of people, including her friends and family who continued the search, the media for covering the story, and the police for their assistance in locating her.

“We would like to especially thank you all, for helping Cara, for being kind, and being caring and noticing other people in their hour of need,” she said.
