A bus carrying multiple disabled students has ploughed into two cars in a suburban street during school drop off on Monday.
Emergency services responded to 000 calls in Clayton at 8.50am after a Glenallen School bus with six children inside crashed into two parked cars at Moriah St.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said a crew attended the incident at 8.50am but no emergency transport was required.
None of the six children — aged between five and 17 — were seriously injured, with all students taken to school.
Clayton resident Max Campbell was first on the scene, calling 000 after hearing “a huge explosion of sound”.
“It was a bus of disabled children, that’s frightening,” Mr Campbell said.
Another resident who wandered out onto the street said a police helicopter hovered over the area “for more than 30 minutes”.
Mr Campbell said the street had been plagued with parking and collision issues for years due to it being too narrow for service vehicles, such as garbage trucks.
“There’s a massive problem with parking … people use it to drive between Princes Hwy and Centre Rd … everyone often loses their (side mirrors),” he said
Mr Campbell also said he has contacted Monash Council in order to fix the parking issues, with one notable incident occurring a few years back “where a car ploughed into half a dozen other cars”.
Victoria Police Sergeant Laureina Everett said an investigation into the collision had begun.
Roadside and alcohol testing was completed, with the bus driver returning negative results for both tests.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said there were eight passengers on board the bus at the time of the crash.
“An investigation into the incident is underway,” she said.
“The eight passengers on board were not injured and the bus driver has been spoken to by police.”
Any witnesses with information or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage have been urged to contact CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000 or make an anonymous online report.
Monash City Council and Glenallen have been contacted for comment.
