A Surrey Hills man has been accused of dangerous driving after he drove his luxury car into a pole in Melbourne’s north which left him and his passenger with serious injuries.

A Surrey Hills man allegedly drove his luxury McLaren at high-speeds through a busy Melbourne street before he crashed into a pole which left him and his passenger with serious injuries.
Julian Francis, 31, fronted the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on February 13 after he was charged with driving in a manner dangerous, recklessly causing serious injury and reckless conduct endangering life.
The car, valued at more than $300,000, was travelling along St Georges Rd, Preston on May 27, 2023 when it smashed into the power pole.
Mr Francis was charged by police on December 3, 2023.
The court heard Mr Francis spent three days in Royal Melbourne Hospital after the crash and suffered from post-traumatic amnesia and brain bruising.
Magistrate Donna Bakos adjourned the matter to a committal hearing on August 4, which will likely go for three days.
His bail was extended to that date.
