The discovery of a man’s body in a Skye playground has rocked local families who often visit the small park.
Parents took to social media following the man’s death on Friday morning at Darnley Reserve to alert others to the incident.
“Can you imagine if a child had found the body?” one woman posted.
“It’s too close to home,” another park user said.
Others questioned the number of deaths in the area recently.
“Not another one. What’s going on?” a woman posted.
Emergency services were called to Darnley Drive on Friday morning after a man’s body was discovered.
The man could not be revived and Carrum Downs police are now preparing a report for the Coroner.
The man was found about 10am and Frankston SES attended about 11.30am.
The pocket park on Darnley Drive borders The Pines Flora and Fauna Reserve and provides access to walking tracks through the heavily treed park.
It is not far from Flinders Christian Community College and Carrum Downs police station.
Police have confirmed the man’s death was not suspicious.
The death was the second in less than a week in the Frankston municipality.
On Monday an early morning walker found a man’s body washed up on Frankston beach, less than 10km from Darnley Park.
Police initially refused to rule out foul play and later declared the death “not suspicious”.
