A MAN pushing a broken down car has been taken to hospital after a hit-run collision in Berwick this morning.
The 29-year-old was struck on O’Shea Rd about 6.45am by a white Subaru Forrester with stolen numberplates.
A driver and passenger, a man and woman aged in their 20s, briefly got out of the Subaru to check the man was OK before driving away.
Police said the man was pushing a broken-down maroon Subaru Forrester out of Riveria Rd and west on to O’Shea Rd when he was hit.

“A white Subaru Forrester with stolen registration plates was travelling west along O’Shea Rd when it clipped the vehicle and hit the man,” leading Senior Constable Melissa Seach said.
“The male driver and female passenger got out of the vehicle to check on the man before running from the scene.”
The Berwick man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver and passenger are both described as caucasian.
The man had a sleeve tattoo and was wearing a black cap on backwards and a light coloured T-shirt with a black pattern on the shoulders.
Casey Highway Patrol is investigating and are keen to speak to any witnesses.
