Alleged drunk driver caught by police in Dandenong twice in one night

A man in Melbourne’s south east has been spotted by police twice in one night allegedly committing multiple road offences, including blowing three times the limit.

A motorist faces a long stint off the road after he was allegedly caught drink driving twice in one night.

The 29-year-old was first picked up by the Greater Dandenong highway patrol are they were called to a collision on the Princes Highway in Dandenong at 7.40pm on Saturday, May 28.

The man allegedly blew 0.156, with police seizing the car keys and giving him a notice prohibiting him from driving.

Four hours later, he was allegedly at it again — in a different car.

Police caught up with the man in Dandenong where he was allegedly uncooperative, refusing to accompany officers for a further evidentiary breath test.

The man was subsequently arrested for being drunk in a public place.

His car has been impounded for 30 days, at a cost $1038.

The driver was detained in a police cell to sober up for six hours following the incident.

The man was bailed to appear at the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on July 4.
