Aged care pair Alana Kirk, Norman Kingston wed with guinea pig page boys
TWO lovebirds from a Rosebud retirement home have tied the knot with their adorable fur babies — a pair of guinea pigs — in the bridal party.

LOVE has conquered all for Alana Kirk and Norman Kingston.
The Rosebud lovebirds — whose romance inspired and moved fellow residents at Mercy Place — tied the knot before a large crowd in the garden of their aged care centre.
Ms Kirk wore a stunning red dress and carried a posy of apricot and white roses.

During the ceremony Rev Chris Cohen paid tribute to the power of love.
“I believe with true love we want the best for the other person,” he said.
“If you can love each other for the sake of the other, you will have a richness and joy and you will enrich each other.”
Best man Max Hannah revealed how Ms Kirk, 63, fell for Mr Kingston, 71, while he battled cancer.
“Alana helped Norm through his cancer and it was at that stage Alana fell in love with Norm,” he said.
“With the care she was giving him she decided to ask him to marry her.”
Mr Hannah quipped: “I thought it was supposed to be the other way around.
“Norm fell in love with Alana and she popped the question.”
Their much loved ‘fur babies’, guinea pigs Milo and Chucky, were resplendent wearing bow ties as ‘page boys’.
Singer Morice Francis performed a heartfelt rendition of Only Fools Rush In during the service.
Mercy Place manager Julie Milne said the residents were rapt to be involved — making decorations including bunting for the wedding.
“Everyone came together as a family … the staff did the catering,” she said.
Ms Milne said the couple were inseparable, adding: “They’re joined at the hip.”
The couple were friends for 16 years before their whirlwind romance began.
