A GoFundMe has raised $15k for Quinn Story’s funeral

A fund raiser to help the family of the teen killed at The Pillars last month has raised more than $15,000 in 24 hours.
The body of Padua College student Quinn Story was found at the Mount Martha cliffs about 10am on June 26.
Quinn’s aunt Gabrielle Dalton said her “beautiful nephew” died one month shy of his 17th birthday.
“(The Pillars) was his happy place – a place that gave him great comfort,” she wrote on an online fund raiser.
His cause of death is still to be determined and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
But tributes are flowing in for the 16-year-old, who has been remembered as a sensitive and creative teen who touched the hearts of all he met.
Family friend Gee Ryan, who knew the Mount Martha teen since he was six years old, said he “stood out” from the beginning.
“He was so creative. He wrote poetry and music and had an almost other-worldly quality about him.”
Ms Dalton started the We Love You Quinny fundraiser online on Saturday, which had raised $15,723 of its $25,000 goal by Monday afternoon.
“My sister Monique, Quinn’s mum, is without a doubt the most loving and caring mum, sister, daughter, cousin and friend to many,” Ms Dalton wrote.
“This page has been set up to raise funds associated with Quinn’s passing.”
The family had initially feared it would have to contribute to the cost of retrieving Quinn’s body but say police contacted them on Monday to assure them this was not the case.
