The college shared a photo of the young man with a tribute on social media on Monday night.

Principal Anthony Banks described Quinn as a “creative songwriter and improviser who loved drama and skateboarding”.

“He was a thoughtful and kind-hearted person,” Mr Banks wrote.

Mornington police sergeant Daniel Patten said Quinn’s death was a tragic accident.

The circumstances leading up to the teen’s death are still being investigated but Sgt Patten said he had not been seen for about 24 hours prior to his body being found at The Pillars at 10am on Saturday.

Mr Banks said Quinn was a valued member of the Djeembana House community.

“He commenced Year 7 at Padua College, Mornington Campus, and, after attending other educational settings, returned this year to Padua College for Year 11 studies,” Mr Banks wrote in the post online.

“As a Catholic, faith-filled community, we draw strength and solidarity from our Loving God at this sad and challenging time for Quinn’s family and friends.”

Mr Banks asked the school community to keep Quinn’s parents and three older brothers in their prayers.

“May God’s grace be found in the kindness of those supporting them, and may we take some comfort in our faith that God’s arms are already welcoming Quinn to his eternal home.”

Hundreds of people have since added comments to the school’s statement with one woman describing Quinn as “little energiser bunny that never stopped and always made time to make me laugh”.
