How to snap Melbourne

OPPOSITION Leader Bill Shorten is the latest public figure to throw his support behind #SnapMelbourne.

The MP for Maribyrnong leapt at the chance to encourage people to celebrate not only our city, but its diverse suburbs.

“I love the strong sense of community in Moonee Ponds and my whole electorate,” Mr Shorten said.

“It’s a great place for my kids to grow up. It’s the sort of community where your neighbours aren’t strangers.”

#SnapMelbourne is an invitation to our readers to snap and share photos that embody their city, suburb or street.

It will culminate on November 16 in a day of snapping, hashtagging and sharing to celebrate what we love about Melbourne life.

“Because I travel so much, my favourite thing to do is just hang out with my family when I’m home — just taking the kids to the local shops, helping them with their homework, walking the dogs,” Mr Shorten said.

The Labor leader said his family and his two bulldogs, Tilly and Theo, were what he missed most about Melbourne when he was in Canberra.

You don’t need to wait until November 16 to start looking through the lens — you can start snapping and sharing now.
