Yering crash closes Melba Highway between Yarra Glen and MacIntyre Lane as two taken to hospital
An elderly woman has died and two men rushed to hospital after a serious crash in Yering. Police are urging drivers to steer clear with Melba Highway closed.

An elderly woman has died and two men rushed to hospital after a car accident in Yering.
Emergency services were called to the Melba Highway, not far from MacIntyre Lane, about 2pm.
Victoria Police Senior Constable Alistair Parsons said an elderly woman, who was the sole occupant of the one of the cars, died at the scene.
Sen-Constable Parsons said the two men in the second car were both rushed to hospital.
A man in his 30s was flown to The Alfred with upper and lower body injuries, while a man in his 20s was taken to Maroondah Hospital by ambulance with upper body injuries.
He said police are investigating and anyone who witnessed the crash or with information, or with dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Police have reported on Facebook the Melba Highway is closed in both directions from the Yarra Glen township to MacIntyre Lane because of a “serious collision”.
They have advised drivers to avoid the area.
