Shoppers are growing impatient waiting for the long-awaited upgrade to Westfield Knox.
While family-friendly venue The Sporting Globe and popular bubble tea outlet Tea Royale are set to open soon at Knox Ozone, shoppers want to see more variety in the centre.
More grocery stores topped the wishlist from people on Knox Leader’s Facebook page.
Belinda Fortune said: “Another supermarket instead of two Coles would be fantastic,” while Jacinta Condick said: “We don’t need two Coles in the one centre. Maybe a Woolies, love a Big W.”
Sue Brewster, however, went a step further.
“Not sure how much clearer we all have to be … (we need) a whole new shopping centre,” she said.
Others were critical of the number of similar shops popping up in the centre.
Monique Carnell said: “Some decent shops would be nice, instead of nail shops, massage shops, phone shops, hairdressers/barbers and now I’ve noticed currency exchange stalls are popping up.’’
Helen Delaney called for a revamp of the food court, labelling it tired and the choices limited.
In a statement, discount supermarket chain Aldi confirmed Westfield Knox was an area of interest, while Woolworths said although it was always looking for opportunities to open new supermarkets, it had no specific news about Westfield Knox.
Popular clothing stores H&M and Uniqlo also had no news about future store openings.
Westfield Knox centre manager Kristian Nicholls previously told Knox Leader the Sporting Globe, a family dining venue televising sport and entertainment, was due to open at the end next month.

Mr Nicholls said it would span multiple levels and deliver a new and exciting dining offering, a dedicated function space and rooftop bar overlooking the Dandenong Ranges.
“We are committed to continually evolving the mix of retailers and experiences we offer our customers at Westfield Knox and we are working hard to bring new and exciting retailers to the centre,” he said.
“We will continue to keep our customers and the local community updated as we have more news to share.”
