A Dandenong District Cricket Association club president and competition committee member has launched an expletive-filled tirade against an opposition club following a win at the weekend.

The DDCA has confirmed it is investigating Narre South president Nathan Tracy’s vile social media post made after his Lions defeated Springvale South on Sunday.

The post refers to Springvale South as “inbred c**** who belittled us with allegations of cheating, having culture issues and being irrelevant in the DDCA”.

The two-day match was originally set for Saturday and Sunday but was rescheduled to a one-day game on Sunday due to the state of the wicket.

The post was made on Tracy’s private account and has since been deleted.

While declining to comment further Tracy told this masthead that he had published it and deleted it minutes later.

Competition president Hilary Wijeratne confirmed the association would be assessing Tracy’s position on its committee.

“We are in the process of speaking to the person in the next couple of days,” he said.

“We all know that that is a breach of our social media policy, we have an expectation that all clubs, members of the DDCA follow that policy.

“It’s the same standard for the committee, we don’t condone that sort of behaviour so we will investigate as to why these actions happened.

“We have taken action in the past and will do so to one of our executive members if we need to.

“The person in concern understands the ramifications, even if it was in private, there’s no such thing as private when it comes to social media.”

The competition’s social media policy is not accessible on its website.
