AERIAL artist Jasmine Zapka and partner Andy Estoe are living the entrepreneurial dream, helped along by a former student.
Owning her own pole fitness hub had always been Ms Zapka’s dream and now, along with Mr Estoe, she runs The Pole Room in Kilsyth South.
The young entrepreneurial couple recently featured on Channel 10 reality television investment show Shark Tank.
While they weren’t successful in getting the five “sharks” to invest in the couple’s franchising plans, Boost Juice founder Janine Allis offered invaluable expertise and advice to the couple after the show.
But it was a former pole fitness student who helped Ms Zapka’s dream studio in Ringwood become a reality in December 2014.
After Ms Zapka finished teaching at another business, she had kept in touch with the woman who invested the initial $10,000 in The Pole Room.
“I was so thankful and grateful,” she said.
Since then the couple, whose student base outgrew the Ringwood space, moved into their current location which offers various levels of pole, core training, dance and other classes for men and women.
“Pole is progressive and we get so focused on learning a new skill or combination you find yourself stronger and leaner without even realising,” Ms Zapka said.
“The product is a wonderful surprise.”
