The community has slammed the actions of vandals who left a huge mess in the change rooms at the Seville Recreation Reserve.
In a post shared on a Facebook community noticeboard, photos reveal the damage caused by vandals on October 13, with a hair dryer lying on the floor in milk, smashed bottles and a pile of mobile phones strewn on the ground.
People shared their disgust on the post, with one woman slamming the damage as “disgusting and disappointing.”
Yarra Ranges Council environment and engineering director Mark Varmalis said the council was disappointed to receive reports of vandalism and damage at the change rooms, which opened earlier this year.

Mr Varmalis said since receiving the reports, the council organised cleaning and repairs and reported the vandalism to Warburton police.
He said council’s buildings, including the change rooms near Seville’s sporting grounds and popular water play park, were there for the benefit of the community.
“They are used by sporting clubs, visitors and community members and improve the experience of visiting the recreation reserve, and we’re very disappointed about this vandalism,” Mr Varmalis said.
He said council’s buildings were equipped with safety switches to cut the power if a connected appliance short-circuits, so there was no risk was posed by the appliances left in the rooms.
He said the council’s public toilets and change rooms were regularly maintained, but thanked the members of the public who notified the council about the damage shortly after it happened, so the council could organise repairs as soon as possible.
Warburton police have been contacted for comment.
Anyone with information on the vandalism is urged to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
