Rowville’s Stud Park Shopping Centre grocer Henrys Mercato staff member’s positive coronavirus test

A Rowville shopping centre green grocer employee has tested positive to coronavirus forcing the business to close and disinfect before reopening.

A Rowville shopping centre has been disinfected after a green grocer staff members tested positive to coronavirus.

The Henrys Mercato team at Stud Park Shopping Centre took to Facebook to reveal the grocer closed as soon as one of its staff members testing positive for coronavirus.

“Upon this alert we shut down our Stud Park store immediately,” the message says

According to the message, the staff member last worked six days ago — on Saturday, March 28.

“The staff members on the same roster and those whom have been in close contact with this person have been directed to self-isolate for 14 days and to seek medical treatment if they display any symptoms,” it says.

“As per instruction of the Victorian Health Department the store has undergone a full and intensive clean and will continue to trade as of this morning.”

The centre’s management sent out a memo to its retailers last night alerting them to the positive coronavirus case.

The centre is managed by AMP Capital and spokeswoman Lara Evans said the group was aware of reports of a Stud Park retail employee testing positive to coronavirus.

“The employee has not been to the centre for six days prior to this positive diagnosis,” Ms Evans said.

“We have been in contact with the relevant health authorities and this case has been confirmed.”

She said all areas where this person was known to have used have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, including the store where they worked.

“The store is open for trade today,” Ms Evans said.

“Throughout the centre our focus remains on regular and diligent cleaning, as we continue to provide the community access to essential services.”

The Department of Health and Human Services data has revealed there are 1085 coronavirus cases in Victorian, jumping by 49 overnight.

There have been 10 people in Knox now diagnosed with the highly contagious disease,

19 in Yarra Ranges, nine in Maroondah, 19 in Whitehorse, and 37 in Monash.

The note said: “Yesterday evening we were informed that one of our staff members tested positive for COVID19.”
