A woman remained in the land of Nod even as unknown attacker blasted her Rowville house with a shotgun, smashing a window.
The “odd” shooting has police calling for information, with detectives still at a loss as to why the Taylors Lane home was targeted on Sunday, February 2.
Knox police detective Sergeant Daniel Taylor said the woman was asleep about 5.30am when at least two shots, fired from a shotgun, hit the front of her house, damaging a window and guttering.
He said the woman slept through the incident and police and witnesses were unsure exactly how many shots were fired.
Sgt Taylor said police did not know how the shooter came to be outside the house, but believed they drove past the house in a vehicle and fled shortly after the shooting.

He said there was nothing to indicate the attacker knew the woman inside.
“We don’t know what relationship they have — if any,” he said.
“It’s a bit of an odd one. We don’t know why it’s occurred.”
Sgt Taylor said there had not been any related incidents before or after the shooting.
