There’s only days left to visit the perfume counter or buy a new dress or jacket at Myer Knox, with the store entering its final days.
The store’s last day of trading will be Sunday, August 1, after more than 40 years based at Knox City Shopping Centre.
Bargain hunters can get 50-70 per cent off clearance items, and 40-50 per cent off full priced items.
It comes after the store was forced to close temporarily during Victoria’s fifth lockdown.
A Myer spokesperson said: “With the state in lockdown, the Knox team remain hopeful that they will get the chance to say thank you, in person, to our wonderful Knox customers, as well as to ensure they get some great offers before the store officially closes.”
The spokesperson said it was continuing to support team members, with more than 50 staff from Knox moving to other nearby stores.
The store closure will also mark the end of the Myer Coffee Lounge, which looks set to move to Eastland.
“We are also close to finalising an agreement with the cafe owners, and look forward to saying more on this shortly,” the Myer spokesperson said.
On Knox Leader’s Facebook page, customers shared their memories of the Knox Myer store, including visiting the toy department, perfume counter and lining up for concert tickets at the Bass outlet.
When announcing the store’s closure, Myer said:
“In making this decision, we have taken into account our rising online sales, as well as the number of Myer stores that are in proximity to the Knox store including Eastland, Fountain Gate, Chadstone and Frankston.”
The long-awaited redevelopment of Westfield Knox is finally set to begin, with Aldi to join Woolworths in the centre’s supermarket expansion on the first floor, replacing Myer.
