A Mooroolbark teen’s dedication to her sport has helped her claim state and national awards, but she now has her sights on competing overseas.

How old were you when you took up your sport? Five years old.
How did you get involved in this sport?
I started at Prep from my primary school, Antonio Park Primary School in Mitcham. I loved competing since Grade 2. In Grade 3 me and my team won silver at nationals for the first time. It was no looking back since then.
Recent competitions and awards:
— School Aerobics Australia state 2017, third;
— School Aerobics Australia state 2018, third; and
— FISAF (national) 2018, fourth.
What has been your biggest success?
Almost every year reaching nationals was my achievement.
Describe your training routine:
Monday after school from 4 to 7pm. After school almost every evening practicing my routine at home. (I also) exercise for 30 minutes.
What do you love most about your sport?
I love the fitness part of my sport. It keeps me happy and fit.
Describe the toughest challenge you’ve faced in your sport:
Since I was always in a team at my primary school, it was tough for me to take up singles since last year. But I am loving it.
What is your ultimate sporting goal?
To go to international level.

Do you have anything else you’d like to add?
I love aerobics and it’s almost been eight years of training. I have been trained for five years in gymnastics too.
