A FERNTREE Gully cafe is gaining a reputation as the outer east’s hub for milkshakes with more than the lot.
The team at Koffee Bar has been coming up with tasty milkshake flavours topped with sugary treats — dubbed Monster Milkshakes — for almost a year.
There’s the Incredible Hulk — a choc-mint milkshake with whipped cream and brownie on top, or the ever-popular Monster Mudslide — a chocolate and Nutella drink topped with more chocolate in the form of fudge sauce and cake or slice.
Koffee Bar owner Rachel Williams said her team started experimenting with the monster milkshakes for fun, but had found an enthusiastic market for the treats.
“We were mucking around trying to create something a bit ridiculous and a bit crazy, a customer tried one and loved it — it started from there,” Ms Williams said.
“Now the milkshakes are attracting people from all over the place.”
She said they had a few regular flavours as well as special creations for occasions such as Valentine’s Day or Easter.
As well as the Monster Milkshakes, Koffee Bar has a menu of cafe fare, and dishes with a “bit of a spin on the recipe”, Ms Williams said.
Koffee Bar is at 1055 Burwood Highway, Ferntree Gully. It is open Monday to Friday 7am-4.30pm, Saturday 7am-3pm and Sunday 8am-3pm.
