Mexican restaurant Carlos Cantina a hit in Boronia

CHIPOTLE burritos, sizzling fajitas and crispy flour tortilla rolls oozing with Nutella, are among the popular items that keep bringing customers back to Carlos Cantina Mexican restaurant in Boronia.

Owner and chef Charles Tey, who runs the restaurant with his wife Cindy Chau, said they made sure the quality and taste of their food was of a high standard.

And the people have spoken: Carlos Cantina is the top-ranked restaurant in Boronia on the TripAdvisor website.

Mr Tey has been working as a chef for 15 years, and sold his home and used the profits to open Carlos Cantina four years ago, renovating an old pizza shop into the modern restaurant. He said it had been his dream to open his own eatery and the investment had been worth it.

The restaurant offers half price main meals and entrees on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

It’s open every day from 5.30pm at 163 Boronia Rd. Details: 9762 5046.
