Maroondah crime: Ringwood man charged after being nabbed at Eastland

A Ringwood man who allegedly used victims’ stolen credit cards around Maroondah has been arrested by an eagle-eyed detective.

A Ringwood man is facing 26 charges after he was arrested by an eagle-eyed detective at Eastland.

Maroondah criminal investigation unit senior detective Paul Cosgrove said the 26-year-old man was arrested on Monday, May 24 and had been charged with 26 offences, the bulk of which related to obtaining property by deception.

Detective Cosgrove said an officer from the Maroondah CIU spotted the wanted man at Eastland.

The man allegedly used victims’ stolen credit cards at various outlets across the Maroondah police service area.

The man has also been charged with three thefts from cars and two thefts of cars.

He was remanded overnight to face Ringwood Magistrates’ Court today, May 25.
