A teenager is recovering from serious facial injuries after he was allegedly stabbed by a group of youths in a shocking late night attack.

A teenager is recovering in hospital after he was allegedly assaulted and stabbed in a frightening attack outside Lilydale railway station.
According to police, the incident took place about midnight on Saturday, underneath the Maroondah Highway overpass.
Protective Service Officers rushed to intervene after four youths allegedly assaulted and then stabbed the 18-year-old victim, who suffered serious facial injuries.
The group fled the scene but were located and arrested nearby a short time later.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said paramedics treated the 18-year-old Gruyere for upper body injuries before he was taken to Maroondah Hospital in a stable condition.
The circumstances surrounding what led to the incident are unclear.
Yarra Ranges detectives have charged the four teens, aged 16 and 17, with recklessly and intentionally causing serious injury, and other assault related offences.
One of the teens was remanded and the other three were bailed, with all four to face a children’s court at a later date.
