Knoxfield family targeted in racist coronavirus graffiti attack as Knox police appeal for help

A young Knoxfield family continues to be targeted by a vandal who sprayed racist graffiti linked to the coronavirus pandemic on their garage. Now, police have released CCTV footage in a bid to find the culprit. WATCH THE VIDEO

Racist vandals continue to target a young Chinese-Australian family and Knox police have released CCTV footage in the hope someone can help identify the culprits.

Detectives are investigating after the Frudal Crescent, Knoxfield home was vandalised three times, and it is believed the April incidents are linked.

Knox Leader previously reported the family woke up to find “COVID-19 China die” spray-painted on their garage door on April 19, and then two nights later someone smashed one of their windows.

Police believe this person can help with their investigation.

Victoria Police media officer Scout Rigoni said police have released footage of a person they would like to speak to in relation to the criminal damage investigation at the house.

Ms Rigoni said the family’s garage door was graffitied in the first incident at 10am on April 19.

She said the home was targeted again when two large rocks were thrown through the front windows about 2.40am on April 21.

Then the garage door was vandalised again two days later sometime between midnight and 8am on April 23.

Ms Rigoni said no one was injured during any of the incidents.

She said detectives believed the three incidents may be linked and asked anyone with information to come forward and contact police.
