A popular Kangaroo Ground wedding venue has hit the market, with the stunning property expected to sell for close to $4 million.

Inglewood Estate, at the gateway to the Yarra Valley at 130 Eltham – Yarra Glen Rd, has been listed for sale via expressions of interest, with agents anticipating it could sell for about $3.8 million.

The 10.32ha property is home to a 110-seat Chapel; a fully licenced reception venue with a full commercial kitchen; an original farm house known as Inglewood Cottage, built in 1893; an extensively renovated four-bedroom homestead; a small-scale vineyard; and a swimming pool.

The estate has been operating as a wedding venue for more than 15 years and has been a finalist in the Australian Bridal Industry Awards.

Fitzroys’ David Bourke and Lewis Waddell, in conjunction with Fletchers Warrandyte agents Dominic Cruz and Nathan Foley, are marketing the estate on behalf of the long-term owners and operators, who are retiring.

Inglewood Estate has played host to countless weddings over the years.

Mr Bourke said the picturesque estate had established itself as a hugely popular wedding venue over the years and was being offered with vacant possession, with existing plant and equipment.

“A lot of memories have been made at this property,” he said.

“Inglewood Estate means a lot to a big number of people, and there is the opportunity here to make something quite special of it going forward.”

Mr Bourke said it was a rare opportunity to own and operate an existing and highly regarded function centre, or to use the property as a lifestyle opportunity and use the existing buildings for a different use, including residential or commercial.

The property is close to the Yarra Valley.

“Food and beverage operators wanting to embrace the trend towards greener lifestyle oriented offerings we’ve seen over the past few years can use the site to establish an iconic new venue,” Mr Waddell said.

“It’s fully-fitted and ready to go.”

Mr Cruz said the property presented the potential to become an idyllic lifestyle and residential property and was also close to Yarra Valley Grammar School, recreational clubs, parklands and highly-regarded local eateries including Massaros and Fondata 1872.
