Hunky Dory fish and chips introduces ‘Fishless Fish’ in its new plant-based menu

Move over Rebel Whopper – fish and chip lovers can now enjoy their favourite takeaway meat-free.
Hunky Dory has jumped on the plant-based food bandwagon and introduced Australia’s first ‘Fishless Fish’ at its stores throughout Victoria.
The chain has partnered with Future Farm Co to create the ‘fish’ out of ingredients including soy, wheat and pea proteins, vegetables and ancient grains including quinoa, amaranth, millet and kamut.

Diners can enjoy it in one of Hunky Dory’s burgers, wraps or bowls or have it with sweet potato wedges.
The fishless fish is part of the store’s new plant-based menu which also includes spring rolls, cauliflower dishes and a cous cous salad.
Hunky Dory Ringwood manager Jimmy Rammos said the fishless fish had received lots of questions and interest from his customers.
“They’re definitely curious to know more about it … and the all-important taste tests have been getting the thumbs up all round,” Mr Rammos said.
Hunky Dory founder Greg Robotis said the chain wanted to accommodate as many customers’ needs and dietary requirements as possible.

“We always want our customers to feel included and considered,” he said.
“Aussies are definitely becoming more conscious of trying to reduce the amount of real meat they’re consuming and we’re equally as conscious of making sure everyone can get their fish and chip fix.”
You can try Hunky Dory’s fishless fish at its stores in Port Melbourne, South Melbourne, South Yarra, Richmond, Highett, Moonee Ponds, Burwood East (Burwood One), Oakleigh, Taylors Lakes (Watergardens), Epping (Pacific Epping), Balaclava, Templestowe Lower and Bendigo.
