Excitement is growing at the foothills of the Dandenongs, with the cast and crew of Eric Bana’s new movie arriving in town.
The team behind box office hit The Dry have reunited for new movie Force of Nature, with filming taking place in the Dandenong Ranges.
The cast and crew have been spotted in The Basin, with one local meeting Deborra-Lee Furness, wife of Hollywood superstar Hugh Jackman.
Furness is one of the stars of the new film, based on the novel by best-selling author Jane Harper.
The film will be shot entirely in Victoria, primarily in the Dandenong Ranges, Yarra Valley and the Otways.
The Basin resident Lynette Hayhurst said huge vans connected with the movie had been parking at a carpark in the town, creating much excitement in the community.
It’s believed the actors are being driven up to the hills for filming.
“Locals are beside themselves, they’re just so excited,” she said.
Ms Hayhurst said she met Furness on Friday and she was “so friendly and delightful”.
“She just looked at me quietly and said ‘Hi how are you,” Ms Hayhurst said.
The film sees five women take part in a corporate hiking retreat, but only four come out on the other side.
