Fish and Feather Kilsyth manager breathed on by ‘Karen’ not wearing mask in Stage 4 lockdown

A maskless woman has chucked a tantrum at a Kilsyth pet shop claiming she doesn’t have coronavirus before breathing on the manager. She then went to extreme measures to continue to pester the staff.

Fish and Feather Kilsyth asked a woman if she could put on a mask.

A “rude” woman has been dubbed another COVID Karen on social media, after she refused to wear a mask and breathed in a manager’s face at a Kilsyth pet shop.

Staff at Fish and Feather were forced to ask the blond haired, middle aged woman if she had a mask when she brazenly walked into the Colchester Rd store just after 1.30pm on Tuesday, October 6.

Staff at the shop took to social media to chastise the woman, with one person saying, “I bet her name is Karen.”

Manager Naomi Lawlor said when asked by staff if she had a mask she could put on, the woman shouted “no”.

“She started ranting and raving that she didn’t have COVID and doesn’t need to wear a mask,” Ms Lawlor said.

“Chris asked the lady to wait outside and we would get the items she wanted.”

Ms Lawlor said the woman then leaned in the doorway and breathed in her face before getting in her car and driving away while honking her horn.

Staff members believe the woman then phoned the shop about 40 times to try and tie up the line and be an inconvenience.

“We are all under the same Stage 4 restrictions and having to follow the same rules,” Ms Lawlor said.

“I understand it’s frustrating and we have all had to stop our lives but I’m only doing what we legally have to, to stay open.”

“I’m just trying to keep everyone employed.”

She said there had been a few unpleasant customers, who had not wanted to sanitise their hands or sign the log book, but this woman was by far the rudest.

“It was pretty poor behaviour,” Ms Lawlor said.

Police have been contacted and will be investigating the matter.
