Emergency services are working to isolate a gas leak in Ferntree Gully, with two lanes of Burwood Highway closed outbound.

The leak was caused by a ruptured gas main, with the CFA reporting there is currently no threat to the community, but nearby residents and motorists should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.

The Department of Transport said the lane closures were just before Ferntree Gully Rd.

“Just the right lane is open with emergency services attending. Please merge safely and pass with care.”
