A family has been forced to flee their home after a garage fire in Melbourne’s southeast.
Emergency services were called to an address on Kimberley Grove in Pakenham at 10.43am on Monday, following multiple calls to 000.
Fire Rescue Victoria and CFA crews attended the single-storey home to find the garage engulfed in flames.
An FRV spokesperson said firefighters worked quickly to “gain the upper hand of the blaze”.
“Firefighters contained the fire to the garage and declared the incident under control by 11.04am,” they said.
“The occupants of the home had been alerted to the fire by a neighbour, and were able to evacuate safely.”
Both police and Ambulance Victoria were also on the scene.
An AV spokesperson said a crew was at the scene for health monitoring, but there were “no patients at this stage”.
A police spokesperson said the cause of the fire was still under investigation, although it was considered not suspicious.
