A Glen Waverley woman has been exposed defrauding the government of disaster relief payments.
Ellen Miller, 25, pleaded guilty at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court to dishonestly obtaining financial advantage.
Miller faced 32 charges related to fraud, but 28 were withdrawn when she pleaded.
Documents tendered to the court revealed Miller, at Cranbourne West between November 2021 and Juneh 2022, grifted a GST rebate from the ATO by lodging eight false business activity statements.
She also pleaded guilty to two counts of fraud after lodging “false claims” for Australian Government Disaster Relief Payments between October 2022 and November 2022.
However, the amounts she stole or the details of her fraud were not revealed in court.
She will return to the County Court in June.
