DO YOU want to escape from winter, and are in the market for a new place?
The developers behind the Kubix apartment complex in Wantirna South are offering a free getaway if you buy an apartment.
An advertisement in this week’s Knox Leader spruiks flights and accommodation for two to Phuket, Bali or Fiji if you buy a one-bedroom apartment, or to Europe with the purchase of a two or three-bedroom apartment.
Apartments have to be bought by the end of next month (August).
Deal Corp managing director David Kobritz said the giveaway was not unusual, and denied the marketing ploy was due to slow sales.
“This promotion is like any other promotion — we’ve given away furniture packages, stamp duty savings ... and it’s something novel in this cold, wet winter,” Mr Kobritz said.
He said sales at Kubix were going well, with most of the second building sold.
Construction had just started on the third and final building, with just over 30 of the 72 apartments sold, he said.
He said it was too early to say if the deal had attracted buyers.
Despite talk of an apartment glut in Melbourne, Mr Kobritz said the business had not felt it.
“We have five projects going in Melbourne and if there’s a glut it’s only in the city itself,” he said.
“Our projects have sold and are continuing to sell very well.”
